Hailey Beth Bonnell of Lowell, who performed in the Northwest Arkansas Gridiron during the 2004 and 2005 seasons, died on February 21, 2008. She was 24.

Hailey was born August 21, 1983, in Fayetteville, the daughter of Mrs. Gayle Smith and Mr. Mark Bonnell. She was a graduate of Springdale High School and the University of Arkansas, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and marketing. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Centerton. Her family said that Hailey will always be remembered by her compassion for life.

She played supporting roles for the NWA Gridiron, waltzing to the melody of “these are a few of my digital things,” hanging out in the HeeHaw cornfield and cheesing up the part of a James Bond girl.

She was survived by her mother and step-father; Gayle and Robert Smith of Lowell; her father Mark Bonnell of Bella Vista; a step-sister, Tami Smith of Lowell; a step-brother, Bobby Smith of Lowell, and her paternal grandparents, Wilton and Jane Bonnell of Fayetteville.

She was buried at Bluff Cemetery in Springdale, with Pastor Barry Smith officiating.

Arrangements were by the Chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home.
